Connecticut CISO on implementing multi-factor authentication to secure remote workers
Jeff Brown, CISO for the State of Connecticut says that when the state moved to multi-factor authentication, they “went from several attacks a week, down to zero.” However, now they are seeing attackers targeting MFA in new ways and need to stay ahead of these threats.
The state is going to largely remain remote, explains Brown. “We now see this as a hiring advantage for us. So, I think from that perspective, you know, employees love it, but we have to figure out and make sure that we’re securing things the right way.”
So they are adopting capabilities such as endpoint detection and response and centralized security dashboards to provide greater visibility into the environment as threat actors implement newer attack techniques.
