Utah.gov takes home more honors
Utah’s official government website, Utah.gov, recently added two more prestigious awards to its mountain of accolades for 2013.
The portal just took home the Web Marketing Association’s MobileWebAward for the best mobile website and the Academy of the Visual Arts’ Davey Award, an international creative award focused exclusively on honoring outstanding creative work worldwide.
The wins bring the state’s total of awards won last year to an impressive 17.
“Utah.gov continues to set the standard for state websites,” said Gov. Gary Herbert. “Recognized by numerous industry organizations with more than 130 awards over the last seven years, Utah.gov is one of the most honored state websites and that’s something we can all be proud of.”
In a previous interview with StateScoop, Mark VanOrden, Utah’s chief information officer, said the state puts a priority on its website and its ability to provide citizens with as many services as possible through the portal.
Utah.gov provides more than 1,000 online services for the state’s 2.7 million residents such as giving residents the ability to renew their vehicle registration, buy a hunting and fishing license, register a business, find a transparent state budget and more.
“We are committed to providing an excellent online portal for our citizens that can be accessed from desktops, mobiles and tablets.” VanOrden said following the most recent announcement. “We are especially proud to be recognized for our mobile strategy.”
Utah.gov is run by Utah Interactive, part of NIC, which provides websites to more than 3,500 government entities around the country.
