RapidDeploy's CEO said the funding will allow an expansion of the firm's reach to 911 centers and enhance development of its cloud-based offerings for next-generation 911.

Starting in May, California 911 centers will be able to receive automatic, real-time notifications when a General Motors-made car equipped with OnStar crashes.
