After testing in the Denver suburb of Golden, the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance plans to expand its self-driving shuttles into two more cities next year.

Organizers of a new coalition said individual cities and counties can't drive essential civic technologies to scale on their own.

The University of Colorado Denver announced an expansion of its partnership with the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance to study "smart city" technologies.
