Broadband expansion continues in Delaware
On this week’s Priorities podcast, Delaware Chief Information Officer Greg Lane explains how his department is pushing forward the state’s broadband expansion, bolstered by state and federal dollars. Gov. John Carney said in October his state will be the first in the nation to offer its residents universal access to high-speed internet. Lane says the state was able to provide access to about 6,000 additional addresses with funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act and it’s now targeting an additional 10,000 addresses with money from the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment Program.
Also on the podcast, Pennsylvania CIO Amaya Capellan outlines her top priorities as she settles into the role. And later, Michael Watson, Virginia’s chief information security officer, explains his state’s approach to the state and local cyber grant program.
