Infographic: National Day of Civic Hacking
This weekend, thousands of civic-minded hackers across the country will take part in the second annual National Day of Civic Hacking, during which technology and data will be used to create solutions for government-related problems.
The event will bring together citizens, software developers and entrepreneurs to collaboratively create, build and invent new solutions using publicly-released data, code and technology to improve communities and the governments that serve them.
The events are not limited to those with a strong technical knowledge; the only prerequisite is that a person be passionate about helping their community.
To put the day into perspective, Russell Yerkes, a graphic designer and production manager for StateScoop and FedScoop, created the below info graphic highlighting the National Day of Civic Hacking and the events that support it.
