Nonprofit announces new ‘innovation hub’ for local officials, private sector
The local government nonprofit CivStart announced on Wednesday a new partnership with the National League of Cities to launch an online platform that seeks to spark innovation in government leaders and innovators.
The CivStart Innovation Hub aims to address a critical need for public and private-sector leaders to come together, the release said.
“We are excited to partner with the National League of Cities to launch the CivStart Innovation Hub,” CivStart CEO Anthony Jamison said in a press release. “This platform will serve as a catalyst for innovation, bringing together a diverse array of stakeholders to drive positive change in communities across the country.”
The innovation hub seeks to provide users networking opportunities, resources and education events in one location to support local government leaders, startup founders and other industry experts.
“This platform is going to fill an important need for local governments who need access to trusted, curated information and technologies in the rapidly-shifting world of government technology,” Peter Pirnejad, city manager for Los Altos Hills, California, said in the release.
On Thursday, the National League of Cities and CivStart plan to host a virtual launch event where participants can learn more about the new program.
