State Leadership of the Year
Melinda Stewart, chief of the Virginia IT Agency’s enterprise solutions team, recently led a transformational program to modernize the Commonwealth’s executive branch agency websites to provide an accessible, trusted, cohesive and secure digital experience for all Virginians. Using a collaborative approach and introducing new tools to agencies, the program has been remarkably successful. This past year, the enterprise improved from 44% accessibility compliance to over 88%. The cohesively-designed branding bar was deployed to 100% of public-facing sites to ensure consistency. This programmatic partnership sets the Commonwealth up for compounding success in future opportunities together.
