GoldenGov: State Executive of the Year

Ken Zellers was appointed director of the Missouri Department of Revenue in October 2019. Zellers’ dedication to customer service, efficiency, quality and teamwork is cultivating a bright future for the department. Zellers’ business approach and customer focus promote a culture of operational excellence. Under his leadership, the department created a 10-year IT roadmap outlining current and future technology needs. The department established a new budget process involving reinvestment and progress tracking, modernized conference rooms and implemented multi-functional print devices. The department also created the state’s first Diversity and Inclusion Employee Council, established external partnerships and it regularly participates in statewide task force initiatives.
