Anushree Bag, executive director for risk and compliance for the State of Indiana, is a leader extraordinaire. With her very strong STEM background — she has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering — and extensive background in risk management and compliance, Bag has implemented a high level of maturity and governance in risk, compliance and policy management. Under her leadership, the state’s compliance team is utilizing a formalized GRC framework to manage four regulatory audits of IT risks. Within a very short period of time she has had a profound positive influence on the culture of the team. She also founded a women in technology group focused on lowering the chronic underrepresentation of women in technology.
