NASCIO names New Hampshire CIO Denis Goulet as new president

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers announced Monday that New Hampshire CIO Denis Goulet will serve as the group’s new president.

Goulet, who had been NASCIO’s vice president, is taking over after the news earlier this month that North Carolina CIO Eric Boyette, who was named NASCIO’s president last October, was appointed to lead the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

“I want to thank my colleague, Eric Boyette, for his service to NASCIO and his leadership as NASCIO president,” Goulet said in a NASCIO press release. “I will do my best to serve the association at the same level of dedication. I look forward to leading the association and working with the tremendously dedicated state CIOs across the country.”

As a nonpartisan organization with the mission to “foster government excellence through leadership of quality business practices, information management and technology policy,” according to its website, NASCIO maintains an executive committee filled by 12 current state chief information officers, along with two members of a corporate leadership council, who are often former state CIOs themselves.

NASCIO has not yet named a new vice president.
