NASCIO names finalists for State IT Recognition Awards
The National Association of State Chief Information Officers has named 33 state technology projects as finalists for its annual State IT Recognition Awards.
The winners will be named later this year at NASCIO’s Annual Conference in Nashville, what will be the association’s 26th consecutive year honoring information technology achievements in the public sector.
The finalists, chosen from more than 100 projects nominated by NASCIO’s member states, territories and the District of Columbia, will compete in 11 different categories.
“Being a part of the NASCIO awards process was a privilege and an honor,” said David Behen, chief information officer for the state of Michigan, in a statement. “As co-chair of the Awards Committee, I can assure everyone that the winners of these coveted IT awards will be both deserving and hard earned. The selection process is sound and strong.”
Added Claire Bailey, chief technology officer for the state of Arkansas: “As a longtime NASCIO member, I always look forward to the awards process each year. I continue to be amazed by the innovation and leadership that is showcased in the submissions. All submissions illustrate the dedication across the states to improve access and delivery of government services.
